The primary aspirations for the development can be summarised as follows:
Provision of a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) for the over 55s.
The goal of continuing care is to maintain the independence of the individual through an active life. Activities such as swimming, walking and gardening will be encouraged to facilitate this.
Links with wider community will be encouraged to prevent isolation and a “Country House” ambience will be the key to a strong sense of community spirit within the development itself
The overall environment is required to be of a high quality, both internally and within a landscaped setting.
A range of accommodation will be designed for sale within the development. A sense of “home” will be paramount, avoiding any feeling of an institution.
The security and safety of environment will be important so security staff will patrol the grounds 24 hours a day as well as a fully monitored CCTV system.
The development will draw upon a range of employed full and part time support staff and systems.
Transitional care. bedrooms will be made available with personal care and support for people discharged from hospital, no longer in need of hospital treatment but not yet able to cope with independent life at home.
Landscape. Preservation and Restoration of the character and heritage of the Landscape will be a key goal.
Original features worthy of retention will be incorporated and wherever possible reference will be made to local landscape principles.
Where appropriate, the maintenance of woodlands grouping of trees and (re) establishment of walks through the grounds will be made.
In addition a garden will be established, as well as public Woodland area.
